We live in a new economy since 2009.
Career plans created before 2009 were based on the idea of going to school, graduating and getting a job for your lifetime. We may not work for the same company the entire time, but the job responsibilities usually stayed within similar parameters for each job change we made.

Today we are finding that many of the job responsibilities have changed and the number of job opportunities per job title have decreased. The number quoted for this decrease in job opportunities today is one job for every five individuals looking for work. For the recently graduated to the seasoned workers, employment has become almost an illusive dream.
